# Program updates

> Narciso updates itself on the server: there is nothing to install. What happens during an update and what to do if something behaves strangely afterwards.

Last updated: 22 October 2026. Source: https://narciso.io/en/docs/aggiornamenti-del-programma/

Narciso runs in the browser, so **there is nothing to install and nothing to update by hand**. New features arrive on the server and show up the next time you open or reload the page.

## During an update

- The server restarts for a few seconds. The screen «Connessione momentaneamente interrotta» (Connection temporarily interrupted) appears and then everything resumes (see [Internet connection](https://narciso.io/en/docs/connessione-a-internet/)).
- If a part of the program that had not been used yet fails to load because it changed in the meantime, Narciso retries by itself in the background and, if necessary, **reloads the page**. A form that is open and unsaved at that moment may be lost: during an update it is best to save before starting new work.

## After an update

If something behaves strangely, reload the page bypassing the browser's cache:

- **Windows**: Ctrl + F5;
- **Mac**: Cmd + Shift + R.

Alternatively, close and reopen the tab. None of these steps deletes any data.

If you work a whole day with the same tab always open, you may keep using an earlier version of the program: it is best to reload the page at least once a day, before you start.

## Narciso Hub

The Narciso Hub is updated remotely by support, with no action needed from the salon (see [Connectable devices](https://narciso.io/en/docs/apparecchi-collegabili/)).
