# Multiple locations and shared channels

> How a channel (page, profile, number, mailbox) is linked to one or more locations, how Narciso recognises the same account, what each location sees, and the particulars of WhatsApp Personale with several Hubs.

A channel (a page, a profile, a number, a mailbox) is linked to **one or more locations** of the salon. The link is always made for the **active location** of the person making it ([Linking channels](https://narciso.io/en/docs/collegare-i-canali/)).

## How it works

- **There is no screen for «assigning» a channel to locations.** To link it to two locations, you link it **from each of the two**, with the **same account**. Narciso recognises that it is the same one and **adds the location**, without logging in again with the provider (and, for WhatsApp Aziendale, without calling Meta again).
- To link for **another location** you must first **change it to be the active location**: only Titolare (owner) and Responsabile (manager) can do this ([Locations map and active location](https://narciso.io/en/docs/mappa-sedi/)).
- A location sees in the links window **only the channels linked to itself**: a channel linked only to another location appears as not linked, and the card invites you to link it.
- There is no place in Narciso that lists which locations a channel is linked to.

## How the same account is recognised

When only the location is added, **no message appears**: the window closes (for Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp Aziendale the successful-link notice appears).

## WhatsApp Personale: several numbers, several Hubs

- Each location has **its own Hub**; a Hub pairs **one number at a time**.
- A location with no number linked **does not inherit** that of another: it has to link it (with a shared number: by typing the same number, without QR).
- To have **different numbers** in two locations you need **one Hub per location**, each with its own QR.
- When linking a **new number** on a Hub whose current number is shared with other locations, the confirmation «Numero condiviso con altre sedi» (Number shared with other locations) appears: if you confirm, the other locations **lose** that number ([WhatsApp (Personale and Aziendale)](https://narciso.io/en/docs/whatsapp/)).

## What each location sees

- The **conversations and messages** of a channel are visible in the locations of the account that received them. Someone writing to two accounts of different locations is **the same contact**, but with the messages divided by location.
- The reply written from a shared account is seen in **all the locations of that account**.
- The client linked to a contact appears in the address book in all the locations in which the contact is visible.
- If for a technical reason an account is not linked to any location, its messages appear in **all the locations** of the salon, so that they do not disappear.

## Unlinking

Unlinking a channel from one location leaves it active for the others; only by removing the **last** location is the link closed completely ([Unlinking a channel](https://narciso.io/en/docs/scollegare-un-canale/)).
