# Connecting social accounts

> How to connect Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Pinterest from the Collegamenti button of the Piano editoriale, what each one needs, what happens right afterwards, how to reconnect and what happens to the posts when you disconnect.

## The Collegamenti button

**Collegamenti** (Connections) (top right in the Piano editoriale, chain icon) opens the **Connetti i tuoi canali** (Connect your channels) window, the same one described in [Linking channels](https://narciso.io/en/docs/collegare-i-canali/), but with a grid of **four cards**: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest. A card with a **green dot** is connected; a grey dot is not. Only the **Titolare** (owner) can connect and disconnect.

## What happens right after connecting

- The channel appears as connected **for the active location** (and for the other locations if the account was already connected from one of them: [Multiple locations and shared channels](https://narciso.io/en/docs/canali-e-sedi/)).
- For **Instagram and Facebook** the import of the posts of the **last 12 months** starts, with the figures of the last month and the history of the page statistics: the calendar fills up over the following minutes.
- For **TikTok** and **Pinterest** the import happens at the first synchronisation (opening the page): only the last 20 videos or 50 Pins.
- For TikTok and Pinterest the access keys are saved and **renewed automatically**: the check runs every hour and renews before expiry (TikTok in the 3 hours before, Pinterest in the 3 days before). If the renewal fails the account appears as disconnected (grey card): open **Collegamenti** and press **Ricollega** (Reconnect) ([When a link breaks on its own](https://narciso.io/en/docs/collegamento-interrotto/)).

## Reconnecting

**Ricollega** (in the card of the connected channel) redoes the authorisation without disconnecting anything. It is needed, for example, when the access has expired (TikTok, Pinterest) or the social network has changed the permissions.

## An account already connected elsewhere

(This account is already connected to another Narciso account. Disconnect it from there before connecting it here.)

It appears when the account is already connected to **another salon** on Narciso. It is not an error if it is connected to **another location of your** salon: in that case the location is added.

## Disconnecting: what happens to the posts

Instagram and Facebook have two separate sides: **Messaggi** (Messages) (chat) and **Pubblicazione** (Publishing) (this page). In Social media, **Scollega** (Disconnect) removes only the Pubblicazione: the confirmation «Scollegare?» (Disconnect?) appears («Stai per scollegare questo canale SOLO dal Piano editoriale.» (You are about to disconnect this channel ONLY from the Piano editoriale.)); the posts of that account disappear from Narciso (they stay on the social network), but the chat stays connected. The account is disconnected completely only when both sides are off. For TikTok and Pinterest «Eliminazione Permanente» (Permanent Deletion) appears.

- **The channel is used only by this location:** the account is disconnected and **all the posts of that social network are deleted from Narciso's editorial plan**, including scheduled ones and those already published, with their images. The posts **stay on the social network**: only the copy in Narciso is removed. For TikTok and Pinterest the access and renewal keys are also deleted.
- **The channel is also used by other locations:** your location just stops seeing its posts and statistics; the account stays active for the others.

If the same account is reconnected, the **published** posts reappear with the synchronisation (within the limits of the last 50 / 20 posts read); the **scheduled** ones and those no longer on the social network are lost. After the confirmation no notification appears, and in case of error no message ([Unlinking a channel](https://narciso.io/en/docs/scollegare-un-canale/)).
