# Comunicazioni

> The full-width view of all conversations with clients and suppliers: how to open it, what is on the screen, which conversations each role sees and what is shared with colleagues.

**Comunicazioni** (Communications) is the large view of all the salon's conversations with clients and suppliers. Messages arriving on WhatsApp (personal number and business number), Telegram, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, Email and PEC end up in the same list: from here you read, reply, send attachments, put conversations into folders and link contacts to the address book.

## How to open it

1. In the side menu press the **Chat** icon (the envelope): the narrow column with the list of conversations opens ([The chat in the side menu](https://narciso.io/en/docs/minichat/)).
2. In the column header press **Espandi** (Expand): the chat takes up the whole width to the right of the side menu.

The two views show the same data. The large one also has the top bar with **Impostazioni** (Settings) and **Collegamenti** (Connections). When it is open next to the menu, two small buttons at the top right are used to reduce it: **Riduci a colonna chat** (Reduce to chat column) (two converging arrows) goes back to the narrow column, **Riduci a icona** (Reduce to icon) (dash) reduces it to a tab on the right edge of the screen ([Side menu](https://narciso.io/en/docs/menu-laterale/)). The title of the browser tab is «Messaggi & Comunicazioni clienti — Narciso».

### What happens when it opens

- While the data is arriving you see grey «scrolling» rows in place of the conversations; there is no full-page loading indicator.
- As soon as the first block arrives, **the page opens the first conversation** of the list by itself, the most recent one.
- **Opening a conversation marks it as read**, for all colleagues. On **WhatsApp Personale** the client therefore sees the blue ticks. Email and PEC are the exception: opening them does not mark them as read.
- If the list fails to load, no error message appears: the rows stay grey and it is best to reload the page.

## What is on the screen

If no conversation is open, the centre of the area on the right reads «Seleziona un contatto per avviare la conversazione» (Select a contact to start the conversation).

**The page adapts to the window.** It is designed for a surface of 1280 × 720 points and is enlarged or reduced in proportion to fill the space: on a small screen everything looks smaller, on a large one larger, without moving the elements.

## The top bar

| Button | What it does |

| **Impostazioni** | Opens the menu with the AI assistant and the channel filters ([Comunicazioni settings](https://narciso.io/en/docs/impostazioni-comunicazioni/)). The menu closes with a click outside; the Esc key does not close it |
| **Collegamenti** | Opens the window of connected channels, where you connect or disconnect a channel ([Linking channels](https://narciso.io/en/docs/collegare-i-canali/)). After a successful connection the window closes and the page re-reads settings, folders and conversations by itself: the chats of the new channel appear in the list |

**The amber dot.** If a Facebook or Instagram account has been **disconnected by Meta** (for example after a password change), a pulsing amber dot appears on the corner of the **Collegamenti** button, and when you hold the mouse over it a box says: «Un account Social è stato disconnesso da Meta per motivi di sicurezza (es. cambio password). Procedi alla riconnessione manuale.» (A Social account has been disconnected by Meta for security reasons (e.g. password change). Reconnect manually.) The dot appears when the page opens or immediately, if the disconnection happens while the page is open, and disappears when the account is reconnected with the **Collegamenti** button.

## Which conversations you see

All three roles can read and write. What changes is **which conversations** they see, and it depends on the location:

| Titolare (owner) with no location chosen | The conversations of **all** locations |
| Titolare or Responsabile (manager) with a location chosen | Only the conversations linked to **that** location |
| Operatore (operator) (works in the location of the current shift) | Only the conversations linked to the location of the shift |
| A role other than Titolare, with no active location | No conversations |

A conversation belongs to the locations of the **channel account** it took place on (the WhatsApp number, the Instagram page, the email mailbox...): if the account is linked to a single location its messages appear only there, if it is shared between several locations they appear in all of them ([Locations map and active location](https://narciso.io/en/docs/mappa-sedi/)).

Some actions are reserved for the **Titolare**: turning the assistant's switches on or off ([Comunicazioni settings](https://narciso.io/en/docs/impostazioni-comunicazioni/)) and disconnecting a channel ([Linking channels](https://narciso.io/en/docs/collegare-i-canali/)).

## What is shared with colleagues

| Mute and Ban | **Shared**: they are properties of the contact |
| Folders and moving a chat into a folder | **Shared** by all the staff, but each folder belongs to **one location**: a chat shared between several locations is in the folder only for the folder's location ([Folders](https://narciso.io/en/docs/cartelle/)) |
| «Elimina per me» (Delete for me) on a message | **Personal**: the message disappears only for the person who deleted it |
| Channel filters, search, open conversation, text being prepared | **Personal** and not remembered: when you reload the page you start from zero |

## What is not there

So you do not look for it needlessly: the page does **not** have preset reply templates, internal notes on a conversation, assigning a conversation to a colleague, archive (you can only move to a folder or delete), browser sounds or notifications for new messages (the signal is the red number in the row and the red dot on the Chat icon), recording or sending voice notes (received ones can be listened to) and pasting images or files from the clipboard: files are added with the paperclip or by dragging them ([Writing and sending a message](https://narciso.io/en/docs/scrivere-messaggi/)).

On this page the magnifying glass at the top of the column searches **names, nicknames, emails and numbers**; the text of messages is searched one conversation at a time, with the magnifying glass in the chat header ([The conversation list](https://narciso.io/en/docs/elenco-conversazioni/)). The chat column in the side menu, instead, also searches the text of messages ([The chat in the side menu](https://narciso.io/en/docs/minichat/)).

Telegram groups and channels are ignored: only single chats arrive.
