# AI credits

> What artificial intelligence credits (tokens) are, how much the packages cost, how to see the balance, how to top up step by step and where the expense appears.

**AI credits** (also called **tokens**) are the «currency» of Narciso's artificial intelligence. They are bought separately: the **first trial month** is free for the whole program, but AI credits are paid for anyway ([What Narciso is](https://narciso.io/en/docs/narciso/)).

## What they are used for

## Whose balance it is

The balance is **personal**: each user (Titolare (owner), Responsabile (manager), Operatore (operator)) has their **own** balance, the same in the editor, in the showcase website and on the Ricarica page, and does not share it with colleagues. **There are no free starting credits**: a new user starts at **0** and cannot generate until they top up. Each team member therefore tops up for themselves.

## Seeing the balance

In the [Designer](https://narciso.io/en/docs/designer/), click the **circle with your photo or initials** at the top right: a box opens with the business name (or **La tua attività** (Your business)), the user's name (or **Utente** (User)), the balance (**N crediti**) and the **Ricarica** (Top up) button. The balance updates after every successful generation.

The management program's **Ricarica** page (address `/ricarica`, with no menu entry) shows "Saldo attuale … token" (Current balance … tokens) and three packages: **Base** (100), **Consigliato** (Recommended) (500), **Pro** (1000). You also get there from the showcase website when the tokens are not enough. The price is the same as in the editor's box; the page calls them «token», the editor «crediti».

## Prices

Base price **€0.10 per credit** (excluding VAT), VAT **22%**. Volume discounts: from 500 credits **−10%**, from 1,000 **−20%**, from 2,500 **−30%**. Minimum purchase **10** credits, maximum **50,000** per order. You pay by card, in euros, on a secure Stripe page.

## Topping up step by step

1. Open **Ricarica** from the profile box (it also opens by itself when the credits are not enough to generate).
2. In the **Ricarica Crediti AI** (Top up AI credits) window (at the top **Saldo attuale: N crediti** (Current balance: N credits)) choose a package (**1.000 Crediti** is preselected) or **Importo personalizzato** (Custom amount): **−** and **+** change it by 100, the **+250**, **+500**, **+1000**, **+2500** keys under **Rapidi:** (Quick:), numeric field from 100 to 50,000.
3. Check the summary: **Crediti selezionati** (Credits selected), **Imponibile** (Taxable amount), **Sconto volume (x%)** (Volume discount (x%)), **IVA (22%)** (VAT (22%)), **Totale** (Total).
4. Press **Paga con Stripe • €X** (Pay with Stripe • €X). A **separate window** opens with the payment page; if the browser blocks it, it opens in a new tab.
5. In the editor **Pagamento in corso su Stripe — Completa la transazione nella finestra aperta. Il saldo verrà aggiornato automaticamente.** (Payment in progress on Stripe — Complete the transaction in the open window. The balance will be updated automatically.) appears, with package, credits and total. **Riapri finestra** (Reopen window) reopens the payment page; **Annulla** (Cancel) goes back to the package choice.
6. When payment succeeds the page shows **Pagamento Completato!** (Payment Completed!) and closes by itself.
7. The editor shows **Ricarica completata — Accreditati +N crediti sul tuo account.** (Top-up completed — +N credits added to your account.) with the **Nuovo saldo** (New balance). Press **Chiudi** (Close).
8. If you cancel on the payment page: **Pagamento Annullato — Nessun addebito è stato effettuato.** (Payment Cancelled — No charge has been made.)

The program checks the payment every 2 seconds for 4 minutes, and as soon as the Stripe page is closed. Credits are added **only once** even if the payment is checked several times.

| **Tempo di attesa pagamento scaduto.** (Payment waiting time expired.) | No confirmation arrived within 4 minutes. **Whoever has paid** still receives the credits automatically: wait a few minutes and look at the balance again. Whoever has not paid has not been charged: repeat the top-up from the beginning |
| **Errore durante la creazione della sessione di pagamento** (Error while creating the payment session) | The payment could not be opened |
| **Errore di connessione a Stripe. Riprova.** (Connection error with Stripe. Try again.) | Network problem |

## Where the expense appears

Every paid top-up appears in **Contabilità ▸ Prima nota** (Accounting ▸ Cash book) ([Cash book](https://narciso.io/en/docs/prima-nota/)) as an **outgoing** of type **Ricarica token**, with the description **Ricarica: <package>** (for example *Ricarica: 500 Crediti AI*), method **Carta** (Card), assigned to the business's system supplier. Top-ups that were not completed do not appear. If Stripe refunds or disputes a payment, the row stays with the corresponding status and the corresponding credits are removed from the balance, which can fall below zero until you top up.

In the editor **there is no list of usage** (generations with credits deducted) nor the date of the last movement: top-ups are checked in Prima nota.

## What to do if...

| **Token immagine insufficienti** (Insufficient image tokens) | Open **Ricarica** from the profile and buy credits (at least 30 are needed per image) |
| I have paid but the balance has not changed | Wait a few minutes and reopen the profile box. If after 15–20 minutes it is not there, write to [Support](https://narciso.io/en/docs/assistenza/) with the date and the package: the top-up appears in Prima nota only if it was completed |
| Generation fails | Credits are refunded, except 15 in some cases ([Images with artificial intelligence](https://narciso.io/en/docs/immagini-con-ai/)); check the balance anyway |
