# Exporting

> How to download a Designer job (Download locale as PNG) or send it to Social (Salva Post), what is drawn in the final image and how to check it before publishing.

A [Designer](https://narciso.io/en/docs/designer/) job becomes an image in two ways: **Download locale** (Local download) (you download it to the computer) and **Salva Post** (Save Post) (it goes into the [Social media](https://narciso.io/en/docs/social-media/) library, ready to schedule). Both entries are in the **Salva** menu of posts, stories and carousels; print formats follow another route ([Print formats](https://narciso.io/en/docs/formati-di-stampa/)).

## Download locale

For **each board** it downloads a **double-resolution PNG** file (a 1080 px board gives a 2160 px image). The files are called **`<project name>_tela_1.png`**, **`…_tela_2.png`**… (spaces in the name become underscores).

During the operation **Generazione immagini in corso...** (Generating images...) and then **Download locale completato con successo!** (Local download completed successfully!) appear; in case of a problem **Errore durante il download: …** (Error during download: …). With several boards the browser may ask you to **allow multiple downloads**.

Download locale **does not save the job** and does not put it in the library. With panoramic carousels it does **not** draw the part that spills over onto the neighbouring board ([The canvas](https://narciso.io/en/docs/tela/)).

## Salva Post

1. Complete the job.
2. Open **Salva ▸ Salva Post**.
3. The program draws each board as a **double-resolution JPEG**, uploads it to the archive and saves the job as **finished**.
4. After about half a second you are taken to **Social media**, **Piano editoriale** (Editorial plan) tab, with the library already open on the post you have just saved, which «jumps» to get noticed ([New post](https://narciso.io/en/docs/nuovo-post/)).

From there the content is scheduled and published as described in [Editorial plan](https://narciso.io/en/docs/piano-editoriale/).

- A post with **several boards** counts as a **Carosello** (Carousel) in the library; scheduling, however, uses only the first image.
- **Stories** and **Pinterest formats** end up in the library as normal images: the library does not know the size.
- **Print formats** never appear in the Social library and do not have **Salva Post**: they stay in **Riprendi lavoro** (Resume work) ([Designer projects](https://narciso.io/en/docs/progetti-del-designer/)).
- When the content is scheduled, the library marks it «già programmato» (already scheduled): for the same job you have to go back to the Designer and do **Salva Post** again.
- **Salva Post checks nothing**: an empty canvas still produces a white image, and there is no warning if a text goes outside the board.

> **Note.** Before publishing it is worth opening the **Download locale** file and looking at the real image: it is recomposed by a dedicated renderer, it is not a photograph of the screen.

## What the exported image contains

The program reproduces texts (automatic line wrapping, upper case, underline and strikethrough, letter spacing, circular text, alignments including vertical and justified), images with filters and masks, shapes, icons and lines with arrowheads. It **does not yet reproduce** the **shadow opacity** (the shadow uses only colour, blur and distance) and the **rounded corners of the text background** (it stays a solid rectangle). **Hidden** elements in Livelli (Layers) are not exported.

If a **photo fails to load** during export it is skipped and the background stays in its place. Saving many boards with heavy photos can take time on slow connections ([File formats and sizes](https://narciso.io/en/docs/file-formati-e-dimensioni/)).
