# Instagram

> How to link a professional Instagram profile to receive direct messages and comments inside Narciso, without needing a Facebook page: requirements, steps and notes.

This links a **professional Instagram profile**: direct messages and comments arrive in Narciso's chat as «Instagram» conversations and you reply from there ([Comunicazioni](https://narciso.io/en/docs/comunicazioni/)). The same link also feeds Social Media, for publishing and statistics ([Social media](https://narciso.io/en/docs/social-media/)).

## No Facebook page

The login takes place **directly with Instagram**: the profile **does not need** to be linked to a Facebook page and the path does not go through Facebook.

## What you need

- A **professional** Instagram profile. A personal profile is not accepted: switch to «professional» from the Instagram app and try again. If the profile is not professional, Narciso shows «Nessun profilo Instagram Business trovato. Assicurati che l'account sia un profilo Professionale/Business.» (No Instagram Business profile found. Make sure the account is a Professional/Business profile.) (or the refusal already appears on the Instagram site).
- Pop-ups allowed for the Narciso site.

## How to link it

1. Open the links window and click **Instagram** ([Linking channels](https://narciso.io/en/docs/collegare-i-canali/)).
2. Log in on the Instagram site and authorise ([Linking with login on the provider's site](https://narciso.io/en/docs/percorso-guidato/)).
3. On the **«Conferma il profilo Instagram»** (Confirm the Instagram profile) screen **a single row** appears with your @username, already selected. Press **Continua** (Continue).
4. «**Profilo Instagram collegato con successo**» (Instagram profile linked successfully) appears.

## Notes

- If the profile is **already active** (for example linked from another location of the salon), Narciso does not subscribe to the notifications again and does not reload the posts: it only adds the location ([Multiple locations and shared channels](https://narciso.io/en/docs/canali-e-sedi/)).
- A profile already linked to **another salon** on Narciso is refused with «Questo account è già collegato a un altro account Narciso. Scollegalo da lì prima di collegarlo qui.» (This account is already linked to another Narciso account. Unlink it from there before linking it here.)
- The name or photo of the profile cannot be changed from Narciso.
- As with Facebook, **Messaggi** (Messages) and **Pubblicazione** (Publishing) are two separate links of the same account ([Linking channels](https://narciso.io/en/docs/collegare-i-canali/)).
