# Website

> The Sito web page: the editor for the location's showcase website (you draw an area and the AI creates the section), saving, buying a domain, the token costs, and what is not there yet (the website cannot be reached by clients, Blog and Ecommerce coming soon).

> **Warning.** The website built here **cannot yet be reached by clients on the internet**. You can draw it, generate it with the AI and save it, but there is no web address that shows it, not even after buying a domain. To be found online today, use the [Google listing](https://narciso.io/en/docs/scheda-google/) and [Social media](https://narciso.io/en/docs/social-media/).

## Where to find it

Side menu ▸ **Vetrina digitale** (Digital showcase) group (monitor icon; it is closed when you log in: a click on the heading opens it) ▸ **Sito web** (Website) (globe icon). At the top there are three tabs, in the same style as the Promozioni (Promotions) page:

The chosen tab stays in the page address: if you reload, you go back to where you were. The dots after «Ci stiamo lavorando» move by themselves; it is just a visual effect.

## One website per location

The website belongs to the **active location**: each location has its own, and the website of one does not appear in the other ([Locations map and active location](https://narciso.io/en/docs/mappa-sedi/)). When you open the Sito vetrina tab:

- **the location does not have a website yet:** «Il sito vetrina della tua attività» (The showcase website of your business) appears. Titolare (owner) and Responsabile (manager) find the **Crea il sito** (Create the website) button (it starts with a single empty page, the Home). The Operatore (operator) reads that the website has not been created yet and that the owner or a manager can do it;
- **the website exists:** the editor opens on the Home page;
- **loading fails:** the program's message appears (for example «Nessuna sede attiva selezionata.» (No active location selected.)) with the **Riprova** (Try again) link.

For the Operatore the tools that change things are switched off and a right click on the canvas opens no menu. The restriction also applies on the server side ([Roles and permissions](https://narciso.io/en/docs/ruoli-e-permessi/)).

## The editor

At the top there is the bar with the **Editor** button, the zoom controls and the **Salva** (Save) (or **Pubblica**, Publish) button. Below is the **canvas**: a white page divided into square blocks by a grid (32 columns by 18 rows on the starting screen).

- **Zoom:** the **−** and **+** buttons (you can hold them down) go from 100% to 300%, or Ctrl + mouse wheel. With the plain mouse wheel, or with the **hand**, you move the view.
- **Editor menu:**
  1. **Selettore** (Selector) (arrow): the normal mode, for choosing an area. **Manina** (Hand): moves the view.
  2. **Sposta** (Move): you drag an element to another position (it snaps to nearby edges).
  3. **Elimina** (Delete): you click an element and the program asks «Eliminare la sezione?» (Delete the section?) (or «Eliminare l'elemento?» (Delete the element?)).
  4. **Ridimensiona** (Resize): **Modifica libera** (Free edit) (width and height independent) or **Modifica rigida** (Rigid edit) (keeps the proportions).
  5. **Annulla** (Undo) (Ctrl+Z) and **Ripristina** (Redo) (Ctrl+Y): up to 50 steps; a drag counts as a single step.

Choosing an item that is already active again switches it off and you go back to the Selettore. Esc cancels a selection in progress.

## Creating a section with the AI

The website is not written by hand: you **draw an area** on the canvas, **describe in words** what to put there and the AI creates the section.

1. With the Selettore active, you click one block and then another: the area is the rectangle between the two (you can also hold down and drag). You cannot start an area on top of an existing section.
2. To take all the visible space, right click on the canvas ▸ **Seleziona pagina** (Select page). With **Seleziona blocco** (Select block) you start from a single block.
3. You confirm the area: the **FastEditor** window opens, which at the bottom left shows «N. Blocchi» (No. of blocks).
4. You write what you want (maximum **1,000 characters**). As soon as you write, «Costo: X · Saldo: Y» (Cost: X · Balance: Y) appears.
5. You press **CREA** (CREATE) or Enter (Shift+Enter starts a new line).
6. During generation the page is locked and the window shows the stage («Sto capendo cosa vuoi…» (I am working out what you want…), «Sto visualizzando le idee…» (I am visualising the ideas…), «Sto scrivendo il codice…» (I am writing the code…)). It can take a few minutes. If you close the browser tab, the program asks for confirmation; if you leave anyway, generation continues on the server.
7. When generation succeeds, the section appears in the area you drew.

The three **dots** of the window: **red** closes and discards the area; **yellow** reduces the height of the canvas (it removes the free rows; if there are none: «Impossibile ridurre la tela: non ci sono righe libere da togliere.» (Unable to reduce the canvas: there are no free rows to remove.)); **green** extends it downwards (at most 500 extra rows).

> **Note.** A section that has already been created **cannot be edited by hand** (neither text, nor colours, nor photos): you can move it, resize it, delete it and regenerate it. The website cannot contain forms that send data, embedded maps or code: they are removed automatically. So today it **cannot have a working contact form or a map**.

### What it costs

Each generation uses the **image tokens** of your profile, the same as [AuraStudio](https://narciso.io/en/docs/aurastudio/): **1 token for every 20 blocks** of the chosen area, rounded up, minimum 1 (a whole screen of 32×18 = 576 blocks costs 29 tokens). The balance is **personal** to each user, not shared with colleagues. Tokens are reserved at the start and returned in full if the request fails. ### Messages you may encounter

## Saving and «Publishing»

There is no save indicator: every change is **saved automatically as a draft** after a 2.5-second pause. If it fails, «Salvataggio non riuscito: riproverò alla prossima modifica.» (Save failed: I will try again at the next change.) appears. If a colleague (or another browser tab) saved first, «Il sito è stato modificato altrove: ricarica la pagina per continuare.» (The website has been changed elsewhere: reload the page to continue.) appears.

The button at the end of the bar changes:

- **Salva:** appears when there are changes not yet exported. It generates the website's web pages and writes them to the location's folder on the server. You cannot save an incomplete page: the program warns that the page «è vuota» (is empty) or «ha uno spazio vuoto in alto» (has an empty space at the top) or «in basso» (at the bottom).
- **Pubblica:** appears after a successful Salva, until you make further changes. **It does not put the website online.** If the location already has a domain it only shows «Dominio associato: nome» (Associated domain: name); if it does not, it opens the window to search for and buy a domain.

## Buying a domain

Only Titolare and Responsabile, and the website must already exist. You get there from the **Pubblica** button:

1. In the «Cerca un dominio» (Search for a domain) field you write the full name (for example *miosalone.it*) and press **Cerca** (Search). If the format is not correct: «Inserisci un dominio completo, ad esempio miosalone.it» (Enter a full domain, for example miosalone.it).
2. The result says «Libero: puoi acquistarlo» (Available: you can buy it) with the yearly price including VAT, or «Già registrato: prova un altro nome» (Already registered: try another name) (or the reason).
3. **Paga con Stripe** (Pay with Stripe) takes you to the payment page (card only). The domain lasts **1 year**. You can leave without buying with **Annulla** (Cancel), with a click outside the window or with Esc.
4. **The card is only held** for the amount: the charge takes place after the domain has been registered. If registration fails the hold is cancelled and you pay nothing; the Titolare finds a notice. In case of a temporary problem the program tries again by itself for up to 48 hours.
5. After payment you return to the tab with «Pagamento ricevuto: sto registrando nome. Sarà associato al sito a breve.» (Payment received: I am registering name. It will be associated with the website shortly.). From that moment **Pubblica** shows «Dominio associato».

Other messages: «L'acquisto dei domini non è ancora attivo: riprova più avanti.» (Buying domains is not active yet: try again later.); «Per registrare il dominio mancano dei dati dell'azienda: … Completali nelle impostazioni e riprova.» (Some of the business's details are missing to register the domain: … Complete them in the settings and try again.) (checked before payment); «Questo dominio non è più disponibile.» (This domain is no longer available.).

> **Warning.** After the purchase the program **does not link the domain to the website**: the domain is registered in the business's name but does not yet open the website. There is no panel for linking a domain you already own. Until the website is online, do not give clients the address as if it worked.

## What is not there

- The website is **not online**: no address that clients can reach.
- You work on **a single page** (the Home): in the editor there are no controls for adding, renaming or reordering pages, nor for uploading a logo.
- No ready-made templates, no direct editing of text, colours and photos, no uploading of your own images.
- No preview as clients would see it and no visible status of the website (under construction, online, suspended).
- No blog and no online shop.
- The website address shown on the business's Google listing is managed from Social media ([Google listing](https://narciso.io/en/docs/scheda-google/)), not from here.
