# Stickers

> How to create a sticker in the Designer (512 × 512 px, transparent background), how it is imported into Telegram, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook, how to send it in chat and what size limits apply per channel.

A **sticker** is an image with a transparent background that you send in chat like a sticker. You design it in the [Designer](https://narciso.io/en/docs/designer/) and then find it in the chat's sticker panel.

> **Warning.** Stickers are a recent feature. On **personal WhatsApp** the sticker arrives as a real sticker only when the linking device has been updated; until then, the contact receives a **PNG image**.

## Creating a sticker

1. In the Designer, **Nuovo progetto ▸ Social media ▸ Sticker** (New project ▸ Social media ▸ Sticker) (**512 × 512 px**, platforms Telegram, Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook). The card's tip: transparent background, a white border around the subject and a bit of margin, because the edges get cut.
2. Draw. The background of the canvases is transparent. You can have **up to 30 canvases**: with more than one, a sticker **library** is created.
3. **Salva ▸ Crea sticker** (Save ▸ Create sticker) («Trasforma la tela in uno sticker da inviare in chat.» (Turn the canvas into a sticker to send in chat.) / «Trasforma le tele in una libreria di sticker da inviare in chat.» (Turn the canvases into a library of stickers to send in chat.)).

The name is that of the project (if different from «Nuovo Progetto»); otherwise «Sticker» or «Libreria sticker» (Sticker library). Stickers are **always imported into all four platforms**: you do not choose. For each canvas the program creates a **WebP** file (trying decreasing qualities until it fits the size limit) and a **PNG**.

Messages: **Sticker salvato. Lo trovi nelle tue chat social** (Sticker saved. You will find it in your social chats); **La tela è vuota: disegna qualcosa prima di creare lo sticker** (The canvas is empty: draw something before creating the sticker); **La tela N misura W×H px: uno sticker deve essere 512×512 px.** (Canvas N measures W×H px: a sticker must be 512×512 px.); **La tela N è vuota: disegna qualcosa oppure eliminala.** (Canvas N is empty: draw something or delete it.); **Lo sticker "X" pesa N KB anche alla qualità minima: il limite è 100 KB. Semplifica il disegno (meno sfumature e dettagli) e riprova.** (The sticker "X" weighs N KB even at minimum quality: the limit is 100 KB. Simplify the drawing (fewer gradients and details) and try again.); **Questo browser non sa creare file WebP: apri il Designer con Chrome, Edge o Firefox.** (This browser cannot create WebP files: open the Designer with Chrome, Edge or Firefox.)

## Size and weight limits

The required size is **512 × 512**. Because every sticker is also imported into WhatsApp, the cap of **100 KB applies to all** WebP files. Up to 100 stickers per request; the name of a library is 1 to 60 characters long.

## Sending a sticker in chat

In the writing bar ([Writing and sending a message](https://narciso.io/en/docs/scrivere-messaggi/), [The chat in the side menu](https://narciso.io/en/docs/minichat/)) open **Emoji e GIF** (Emoji and GIFs) and the **Sticker** tab. You see **only the stickers suitable for the open channel**, in blocks of 40. One click **sends immediately**, with no confirmation.

- With no stickers: «Nessuno sticker per questo canale. Creali dal Designer, scegliendo il formato Sticker.» (No stickers for this channel. Create them from the Designer, choosing the Sticker format.)
- Loading error: «Impossibile caricare gli sticker. Riprova» (Unable to load the stickers. Try again)
- Sending errors, preceded by «Invio non riuscito: …» (Sending failed: …): «Lo sticker non esiste più.» (The sticker no longer exists.), «Su questo canale non si possono inviare sticker.» (You cannot send stickers on this channel.), «Lo sticker "X" non è stato importato su …: modificalo dal Designer per usarlo qui.» (The sticker "X" was not imported into …: edit it from the Designer to use it here.) Channel disconnected: «Impossibile inviare lo sticker perché l'account … risulta disconnesso» (Unable to send the sticker because the account … appears to be disconnected).
- In the MiniChat the tab is not there when you are writing to several recipients.

Stickers received from a contact arrive in chat as an image.

## What is not there yet

- There is no screen for **deleting** or **editing** a sticker that has already been created (the error message suggests editing it from the Designer, but the function does not exist).
- No role checks: anyone with access creates the salon's stickers.
