# Tools with artificial intelligence

> A list of all the Narciso functions that use artificial intelligence, which ones use AI credits and which do not, and where to read how each one works.

Narciso uses artificial intelligence in several places. This entry is meant to help you find your way around: **only two functions use [AI credits](https://narciso.io/en/docs/crediti-ai/)**; all the others are included in the program and **do not touch the balance**.

## Functions that use credits

The balance is personal and the same for both; it is topped up from the profile box in the Designer or from the **Ricarica** (Top up) page ([AI credits](https://narciso.io/en/docs/crediti-ai/)).

## Photo retouching in the editor

The tools in the **Tool** panel for retouching a photo in the Designer (**BKG Remover**, **BKG Remover +**, **Scomponi**, **Gomma**, **Gomma magica**, **Inpainting**) **do not use credits**: they only have a limit on requests per salon every 10 minutes. ## Things to know

- When an artificial intelligence service does not respond, a message such as «AI non disponibile» (AI not available) appears: the manual functions keep working and you try again later ([External services](https://narciso.io/en/docs/servizi-esterni/)).
- The editor retouches the photos you give it (background, erasures, layers: [Retouching photos](https://narciso.io/en/docs/ritoccare-le-foto/)), but it does not change clients' haircuts: to simulate a new haircut, use the Haircut preview from the chat ([AuraStudio](https://narciso.io/en/docs/aurastudio/)).
