Roles and permissions
Last updated:
Translated from the Italian guide. Narciso itself is in Italian, so the names of buttons, menus and fields are shown exactly as they appear on screen, with a translation in brackets where it helps.
In Narciso every staff member has a role: Titolare (owner), Responsabile (manager) or Operatore (operator). The role decides which management actions are allowed and whether access depends on shifts. The role is assigned in the staff record (see Staff).
Contents
How to tell which role you have#
At the bottom of the side menu, under your name, the role is written in colour: Titolare in amber, Responsabile in green, Operatore in light blue.
Only the Titolare assigns and changes roles. If a person's role is changed, their open sessions are closed and the new role applies the next time they log in.
What changes#
The menus and pages are the same for every role: no item appears or disappears depending on the role. What changes is what you can edit. Anyone who tries an action that is not allowed sees an error message and the action is not carried out.
Cassa (Cash desk), Agenda (Calendar), clients, stock and Comunicazioni (Communications) are available to everyone. Pages for consultation, such as the cash desk totals or the order history, are visible to anyone who has logged in.

An Operatore can therefore open all the pages and use the everyday working functions (taking payments, creating appointments, replying to clients), but not the management operations listed above.
Confidential staff data#
In the staff record some data is reserved for the Titolare: IBAN, tax code, date of birth, pay, contract, documents, emergency contacts and notes. Anyone who is not the Titolare sees it blurred and replaced by sample values, which have no connection with the real ones. Clicking a restricted field shows the red warning «La gestione di questo dato è esclusiva del titolare» (Managing this data is reserved to the owner). Saving the record does not touch the real data.
Segreteria: the tasks#
The list of Segreteria (Secretariat) tasks depends on the role: the Titolare and the Responsabile see the tasks for the whole business, the Operatore only those for their own location. Some items, for example those reserved for the Titolare, do not appear to the others.
Who sees which data: the location#
Narciso shows the data of the active location.
- The Operatore works on the location of their shift and only on that one.
- The Titolare and the Responsabile work on the location chosen from the locations map (see Locations map and active location). When they log in they find the last location used; the very first time, the first location created.
- A deactivated location cannot be opened: «Questa sede è disattivata: riattivala per entrarci.» (This location is deactivated: reactivate it to enter.) appears.
