End of shift

Last updated:

Translated from the Italian guide. Narciso itself is in Italian, so the names of buttons, menus and fields are shown exactly as they appear on screen, with a translation in brackets where it helps.

The login of Operatori (operators) depends on the shifts scheduled in the Turnazione (shift roster) (see Shifts). The Titolare (owner) and the Responsabile (manager) do not have this rule: their session does not depend on shifts.

How the shift works#

  • The Operatore can log in only during a shift, starting 30 minutes before it begins.
  • Once in, the session lasts until the end of the current shift.
  • With two consecutive shifts without a break the session carries on without interruption. If the second shift is at another location, when the first expires the page reloads on that location.
  • The location you work on is that of the current shift.
  • If the Titolare or the Responsabile cancels or moves the shift while the Operatore is connected, the session updates shortly afterwards: if a shift remains (even at another location) you continue there, otherwise the end-of-shift screen appears.

Logging in outside a shift#

Anyone who tries to log in without a shift (before the 30 minutes' notice, after the shift has ended or on rest days) sees in red:

Non hai un turno attivo in questo momento: puoi accedere solo durante il tuo turno. (You do not have an active shift at the moment: you can log in only during your shift.)

The same message appears if the shift has been removed or was saved for another location. What to do:

  1. Wait for the 30 minutes before the start of the shift.
  2. If you believe you have a shift, ask the Responsabile or the Titolare to check the Turnazione: the shift must have been saved for your location.
  3. If you need to log in outside a shift, the Responsabile or the Titolare must add a shift.

Warning before the end#

Twenty minutes before the end of the shift the window «Il tuo turno sta per terminare» (Your shift is about to end) appears. It states at what time the login expires and what happens afterwards:

  • logout: «Verrai disconnesso automaticamente. Salva il lavoro in sospeso per non perderlo.» (You will be logged out automatically. Save any pending work so as not to lose it.);
  • continuing at the same location: the login carries on without interruption;
  • moving to another location: when it expires the page will reload on that location.

The Ho capito (Got it) button closes the window and you carry on working. The window appears again when 5 minutes are left and when 1 minute is left.

The «Il tuo turno è terminato» screen#

At the end of the shift the following sentence appears full screen, on a white background:

Il tuo turno è terminato, verrai disconnesso tra 5 secondi (Your shift has ended, you will be logged out in 5 seconds)

The number goes down every second to 0. At 0 the screen flashes and you return to the login page, with the session closed.

  • It cannot be cancelled or closed.
  • It appears even if you do nothing: it is enough for the end time to arrive.
  • Work that is not saved at the moment of logout is lost. It is best to save or close the cash desk, appointments and cards beforehand, as soon as the 20-minute warning appears.
  • With a following shift the screen does not appear: the session renews itself.
  • To get back in you need a new shift: you can log in from 30 minutes before.
