Discount code in the Cash desk

Translated from the Italian guide. Narciso itself is in Italian, so the names of buttons, menus and fields are shown exactly as they appear on screen, with a translation in brackets where it helps.
The discount code applies the discount of a promotion to a sale (see Promotions). You type it in the box at the bottom of the receipt in the Cash desk and verify it before taking payment.

How to apply it#
The box has a label icon and shows «Sconto / Promo...» when empty. The text is automatically converted to capitals. On the right there are two small buttons with no tooltip: the green tick (verifies the code) and the red eraser (clears the code and removes the discount).
- Add the items to sell to the receipt and, in Riscuoti, choose the client (some codes are valid only for certain clients).
- Type the code in the box.
- Press Invio (Enter) or click the green tick. With an empty box nothing happens.
- If the code is valid the green message «Codice applicato: NOME» (Code applied: NAME) appears and the discount shows on the receipt as a Sconto Promo (Promo discount) line, with the minus sign, above Imponibile (Taxable amount), IVA (VAT) and TOTALE (TOTAL).
- Take payment as usual (see Taking payment).
A code that is typed but not verified has no effect. To remove it, click the red eraser.
The code works with all the payment methods of the Riscuoti mode: cash, other, KlimaCard, POS (SumUp and Satispay) and message. After a payment the code is cleared from the box and, if the sale is recorded, marked as used.

After verification#
- The discount cannot exceed what remains to be paid: the total never becomes negative.
- The discount of a code does not depend on the role of the person taking payment.
- Under the flat-rate tax regime (regime forfettario) the receipt shows the discount and the wording about VAT (see VAT and the flat-rate regime in the Cassa).
- If at the moment of payment the code turns out to be expired, used up or no longer valid for the client, the sale is not recorded and the reason appears.
- With payments that start from a link or from a terminal (KlimaCard, Messaggio (Message), POS SumUp and Satispay) the discount is fixed at the moment you press Riscuoti: a code that cannot be used stops everything before the client pays, and once the payment is made the sale is created with the discount already decided, even if the code has expired or been used up in the meantime.
- If the sale is recorded but the code cannot be marked as used (for example because in the meantime it has reached the limit of uses), the red message «Vendita registrata, ma il codice sconto "NOME" non è stato segnato come usato: MOTIVO. Controlla manualmente il codice.» (Sale recorded, but the discount code "NAME" was not marked as used: REASON. Check the code manually.) appears.
- The field also works in Paga mode, but the recorded order does not take the discount into account.
If the sale is rejected#
If the basket has changed after verification, after «Errore durante la registrazione della vendita:» (Error while recording the sale:) a message of this kind appears: «Validazione di integrità fallita: il totale inviato (€X) non coincide con la somma degli articoli (€Y). Differenza: €Z. Verifica prezzi e quantità.» (Integrity validation failed: the total sent (€X) does not match the sum of the items (€Y). Difference: €Z. Check prices and quantities.) To fix it, clear the code with the red eraser and verify it again on the final basket.
